Its algorithm defines a discounted cash flow income model over the lifetime of your project and calculates the net present value of your patent. However, Toolip’s proprietary method manages to improve any existing valuation product on the market, including the effects of your patent’s risk and opportunities on the final net present value, taking into account longer valuation periods (up to 15 years of the patent’s life) or establishing an effective royalty rate calculation model for licensing negotiations. Furthermore, Toolip’s interface is extremely user-friendly, even for beginners, enabling users to quickly learn and understand the market implications of their patent portfolios. In this sense, Toolip aims to become the “gold standard” for patent valuation and technology licensing, defining a common business framework for practitioners.

Valuation reports: Generation of multi-format reports

Toolip is much more than just valuation. Its unique calculation engine for generating technical reports provides a comprehensive analysis of your valuation results. Toolip is able to generate reports on both the qualitative and quantitative aspects of your patent projects, providing graphics and text explanations of the results obtained. In this way, the user receives all the valuation data in a fully finished product ready to be used as a tool for their internal strategy or for delivery to partners or clients. Toolip reports can be generated in any relevant electronic format (pdf, html, doc, odt, rtf…) as a fixed text or as an editable file. Thus, you can adapt any report to your own requirements and needs. Furthermore, Toolip allows users to maintain their projects in private databases, to store all data on each valuation, and to modify any relevant parameter in the life of their patents, taking into account any modifications and calculating the associated impact on the final valuation results.
